This show is a must see - Amazing music / effects
My son and I both love John Williams music and are Star Wars fans. When Star Wars In Concert came to Atlanta, we got tickets to the "value" seats. They were amazing, but we'll get to that later. The venue, held at the Arena at Gwinnett Center, had free parking, which is unusual. Inside, there were several characters in Star Wars costumes posing for photos with fans as part of the event. My son was thrilled to have his picture taken with a moving R2-D2! In addition to the characters, there were props from the movie and my favorite - large panoramic backdrops from classic settings from the film to take photos with. The large Death Star was my favorite, and my son and I both stood in front of it, feeling awestruck. After exploring the exhibits, we headed to our seats on the second level, offering a great view of the orchestra and the large projection screen. I could talk endlessly about the many moments that gave me goosebumps, but I'll summarize it briefly. The orchestra and choir were exceptional in delivering John William's score. The Imperial March, the Fanfare, the different character themes, the Cantina - all the scenes and sounds that my son and I adore. Along with the music and screen, the lasers, lights, and effects enhanced the event significantly. Anthony Daniel was superb as the narrator and host of the event. His iconic character was evident even without his robotic costume. Several cameras would zoom in on him, displaying his face on the large screen as he introduced each segment. The cameras also captured the orchestra during certain musical moments, providing fantastic shots of these talented musicians at work. If you cherish Star Wars, John Williams, good stories, or simply want to relive your childhood - attend this event. Go now, secure a ticket, and experience this before it moves on. My only regret... it was a one-night show in Atlanta. Perhaps in the future - in a galaxy far, far away...
